Festool VAC SYS VT 275x100 Oblong Vacuum Pad 275 x 100mm
At a Glance: Large 275 x 100mm oblong vacuum pad for secure, non-marking workpiece clamping with the Festool VAC SYS system.
Secure suitable workpieces without obstructing their edges or marking delicate surfaces with the Festool VAC SYS VT 275x100 Vacuum Pad. Its generous oblong clamping area is particularly effective for rectangular panels and elongated components, providing a dependable hold while leaving the workpiece edges freely accessible for routing, sanding, edge banding, trimming and finishing. Designed for the Festool VAC SYS SE 1 and SE 2 clamping modules, the pad uses the system&s FastFix interface for quick, tool-free changes between different vacuum-pad shapes and sizes.
The VAC SYS system holds a workpiece from beneath using vacuum rather than conventional clamps positioned around its edges. This provides exceptional access for machining and finishing while the soft, non-marking sealing surface helps protect sensitive materials from scratches and clamp impressions.
Product highlights
- Large oblong pad: The 275 x 100mm format provides a broad clamping surface for rectangular workpieces and panels.
- Unobstructed edge access: Holds the workpiece from beneath so its perimeter remains accessible for machining.
- Surface-friendly support: Designed to protect suitable sensitive surfaces from scratches and conventional clamp marks.
- FastFix pad change: Allows rapid, tool-free switching between compatible VAC SYS vacuum pads.
- System compatibility: Suitable for Festool VAC SYS SE 1 and VAC SYS SE 2 clamping modules.
- Versatile positioning: Supports efficient routing, sanding, edge treatment, assembly and finishing work.
Features
- 275 x 100mm clamping surface: Offers a useful elongated contact area for many panel and component shapes.
- Oblong profile: Well suited to narrow rectangular workpieces that require greater support along their length.
- Vacuum-based holding: Secures suitable workpieces without mechanical clamps around the outer edges.
- Non-marking contact surface: Helps protect finished and delicate materials when correctly used.
- FastFix connection: Enables quick attachment to and removal from compatible VAC SYS clamping modules.
- Interchangeable design: Forms part of the VAC SYS range of vacuum pads in different shapes and sizes.
Benefits
- Freedom around every edge: The workpiece perimeter remains accessible for routing, trimming, sanding and edge banding.
- Reduced risk of clamp damage: Vacuum holding avoids the concentrated pressure points created by conventional clamps.
- Faster workpiece changes: The VAC SYS foot-valve operation and FastFix pad connection support an efficient workflow.
- Improved working position: The VAC SYS clamping module can position suitable workpieces conveniently for machining and finishing.
- Shape-specific support: The elongated pad provides effective support for workpieces that do not suit a round vacuum pad.
Application
- Holding rectangular panels and elongated workpieces.
- Routing and profiling workpiece edges.
- Edge banding and flush trimming.
- Sanding, polishing and surface finishing.
- Drilling and assembly work on suitable components.
- Furniture, cabinet and interior-fitting production.
- Non-marking clamping of suitable finished or sensitive surfaces.

Scope of Delivery:
- 1 x Festool VAC SYS VT 275x100 Vacuum Pad
Extra Information
- Suitable for Festool VAC SYS SE 1 and VAC SYS SE 2 clamping modules.
- The VAC SYS clamping module, vacuum pump, hose and foot valve are not included.
- This pad was also supplied as the standard oblong pad with certain VAC SYS SE 2 configurations.
- The Festool VAC SYS clamping system is a legacy product range that has been phased out of production.
- Reliable clamping requires a sufficiently smooth, clean, flat and airtight workpiece surface.
- Porous, heavily textured, uneven, cracked or dusty surfaces may not maintain a safe vacuum.
- The FastFix pad interface allows compatible VAC SYS pads to be exchanged without additional tools.
Pro Tips
- Clean both the vacuum-pad seal and workpiece surface before clamping to achieve the strongest possible hold.
- Position the pad near the workpiece&s centre of gravity to keep the component balanced during machining.
- Orientate the long dimension of the pad in the same direction as an elongated workpiece for improved support.
- Test the vacuum grip by applying moderate hand pressure before starting any machining operation.
- Use a different VAC SYS pad size if the sealing surface extends beyond the workpiece or crosses a joint, hole or recess.
- Inspect the sealing lip regularly and replace the pad if it becomes damaged, hardened or unable to retain vacuum.
How to Use
- Switch off the VAC SYS vacuum pump before fitting or changing the vacuum pad.
- Inspect the VT 275x100 pad, sealing surface and FastFix connection for wear, damage or contamination.
- Fit the vacuum pad securely to the compatible VAC SYS SE 1 or SE 2 clamping module using the FastFix interface.
- Clean the selected clamping area on the workpiece and ensure that it is smooth, flat and airtight.
- Position the workpiece centrally over the pad without placing holes, joints or deep surface defects across the sealing area.
- Activate the vacuum system and use the foot valve as instructed to establish suction.
- Confirm that the workpiece is firmly retained and cannot slide, lift or rotate before beginning work.
- Monitor the vacuum hold throughout the operation and stop immediately if the workpiece begins to move.
- Support the workpiece securely before releasing the vacuum, then use the foot valve to remove it from the pad.
Safety
- Wear suitable eye, ear and respiratory protection for the machining operation being performed.
- Inspect the pad and sealing lip before every use and do not use damaged or excessively worn components.
- Confirm that the workpiece surface is suitable for vacuum clamping before beginning work.
- Always test the vacuum hold manually before switching on a cutting, routing, drilling or sanding tool.
- Do not use the system if the workpiece can slide, rotate, tilt or lift from the pad.
- Provide additional support for large, heavy, unbalanced or unusually shaped workpieces.
- Do not exceed the operating limits specified for the VAC SYS clamping system.
- Keep the vacuum hose protected from sharp edges, heat, kinks and accidental disconnection.
- Stop work immediately if vacuum pressure is lost or the workpiece begins to move.
- Support the workpiece before releasing the vacuum to prevent it from falling.
- Follow all operating and safety instructions supplied with the VAC SYS pump and clamping module.
