Extra Information

  • Best suited for sheet materials (mild steel, aluminium, copper, brass) or plastics — observe thickness/hardness limits.
  • Use cutting lubricant when drilling harder metals to extend life.
  • Start at a lower rpm when drilling larger diameter steps, increase gradually once stable.

Pro Tip

  • When enlarging an existing hole, begin with the bit running in reverse for a short moment to score the next step, then forward — this helps avoid grabbing on thin sheet material.

Safety

  • Wear eye, ear and cut-resistant gloves when drilling through sheet metal.
  • Clamp the workpiece securely; thin materials may spin or snag.
  • Reduce rpm and avoid excessive feed when drilling larger steps.
  • Use cutting fluid for metal drilling; inspect the bit regularly for wear or chipping.
